Bachelorette Party Capitol of the World?

Nashville’s rise in popularity began shortly before The New York Times called it a possible “It City.” By 2018 or 2019, Nashville had cemented its status as the Bachelorette Party Capital of the U.S. Articles from Nashville Scene and CNN highlighted the city’s dominance in bachelorette party tourism.

Lower Broadway is packed with bachelorette parties, making their presence impossible to miss. Bachelorette party groups in cowboy boots, matching shirts, and frilled hats fill the streets. Many ride party tractors and pedal taverns, celebrating downtown in true Nashville style.

Let’s focus on what matters most—planning the ultimate bachelorette party. We’ll cover Where to Stay and What to Do, plus a few unique ideas for an unforgettable experience!

Bachelorette Guide on Where to Stay

Map of areas of Nashville

For party seekers, staying near Lower Broadway is ideal. Downtown keeps you close to the nightlife, making it a prime location for your bachelorette party. There are two units above Boot Barn that combined can sleep 10 – if you want to be in the thick of the action. You can also do a general search focused on this area – zoom out if you want additional options.

NOTE: The links to short term rentals are zoomed in to the best options in the area. In some areas, like North Nashville, you want to try to stay in the areas on the map, as straying too far out of that map can get you into dangerous areas. I wish I could say short term rental owners are always on the up and up, but you are often a dollar for them. As an example. – also note this is Edgehill and not “12 South”, illustrating my point.

I often recommend SoBro (South of Broadway), around Korean Veterans Blvd. This area has more hotels and short-term rentals, lowering overall prices.

This advice works if everyone books separate rooms or multiple units in the same building. Bachelorette parties, however, often prefer a single shared unit.

Let’s explore options for both!

Multiple Rooms or Units?

Start with SoBro when choosing a place to stay. The oldest hotels here are about 15 years old, making them fairly new. Most have outdoor pools with bars, perfect for relaxing between events.

The Burnham on Rep. John Lewis Way at Peabody St offers short-term rentals with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. Bachelorette parties can book two or three units for a comfortable stay. The building features a central pool, adding to the fun. Each unit includes a full kitchen, making it a great budget-friendly choice.

For a bachelorette-themed hotel, check out The Graduate in Midtown. It’s home to White Limozeen, a Dolly Parton-inspired rooftop bar featuring the iconic statue that’s perfect for Instagram photos.

For more details on Nashville neighborhoods and where to stay, I will soon link a post with additional recommendations!

Everyone in a Single Unit?

For detailed safety insights, check out my post Essential Tips for a Secure and Enjoyable Nashville Visit and review the map for guidance. Next, I’ll highlight a few areas with large rental units and key pointers.

Downtown lodging – search here – fills up quickly, especially during peak times. For groups up to 8, The Burnham in SoBro and similar properties offer great options. It is more difficult to find larger units here.

Larger groups of 12 or more can find single-unit rentals near Printer’s Alley, the Arts District, and Germantown. In Germantown, it’s best to stay east of Rosa Parks for safety. For addional accommodations, check out riverfront units in Capitol North, which provide extra room and scenic views. Stick with the crowds when walking from Capitol North or Germantown.

Cumberland Heights (uber safe)

Cumberland Heights, north of the stadium, has many new units accommodating 12 or more guests—perfect for large groups. A few years ago, this area was not ideal, but the south end now features condo complexes.Avoid walking back from downtown, especially at night, and choose new condos instead of older houses for safety. For the best options, focus on units west of I-65/I-24 rather than those east of the highways. To stay safe, don’t stray too far outside of the map zoom on the link above.

East Nashville

For safe and walkable nightlife, stay within a few blocks of 5 Points and Main St in East Nashville. Some buildings here offer two rental units, perfect for larger groups. These units are next to each other, making rooftop gatherings easy.

Be cautious when looking at places north, especially west of Elmington Pike. The Dickerson area is generally not recommended for stays. However, McFerrin Park and Cleveland Park offer safer rental options, especially near restaurant clusters.

North Nashville

I would be very wary of booking over in North Nashville (or Bordeaux on the north side of the river). The exception would be the units between Charlotte and Clifton near where Charlotte goes under I-440. I would see exercise caution in this area and not walk around after dark if you book here. Someunits here are labeled “Green Hills”, as your search for Green Hills will tell you it is the safest area of Nashville (true, but this is NOT green hills). I think it is very deceptive and despicable, but a reality. If it says Green Hills here, think twice.

Centennial Park Area

For the most part, try to stay west of 31st over here and Uber in and out at night. You can easily see the difference if you look at prices, as the ones right next to the park will be 1/2 the price of the ones on the west side of 31st, reflecting the difficulty renting them at the same price due to the neighbors in that area. Note that owners often tag these as Green Hills like the ones around Clifton.

The Nations

The best options are going to be on Centennial within a couple of blocks of 51st. This area is well traveled and there is even a neighborhood grocery and a dollar general to get food supplies if you are not eating out all of the time.

Edgehill

If you are looking in this area and it says “12 South” as the location, I would avoid it. More likely it is right next to the Edgehill Apartments or other tenements in the area. This is an “Uber safe” area, meaning avail yourself of ride share after the evening rather than walk. The areas closer to the Demonbreun Circle or the Interstate are more appealing, as these areas are gentrifying.

Others

A couple of other areas taht might have some options:

  1. 12 South – as mentioned, be sure it is 12 South and not Edgehill.
  2. WeHo, or Wedgewood/Houston – You are less likely to find something here, as many units are small. Be careful not to get too close to the Napier homes.
A Quick Note About Parties

While bachelorette parties aren’t usually out-of-control blowouts, it’s important to keep in mind that many rental units have strict rules about noise levels and large gatherings, especially late at night. Ignoring these policies could lead to expulsion before your trip is over, so sticking to the rules is the best way to avoid unexpected disruptions.

To help protect against potential damages, services like Airbnb and VRBO often offer paid protection plans. If you anticipate a rowdy night or feel there’s a chance things could get out of hand, opting for this coverage could save you a significant amount of money in case of accidents

What to Do?

Let’s start with the standard bachelorette party options first. Some of these will require reservations, while others won’t. I will provide links, where reservations are advised.

Bachelorette Party Options

Lower Broad is a must-visit for live music and legendary honky tonks. None charge a cover, so feel free to explore. Some venues may add a facilities fee or event charge to food and drinks.

I will cover star bars and other options in future articles. Lower Broadway alone has over 30 bars, most featuring live music. When including all of downtown Nashville, the number jumps to 80+.

Bachelorette Party Buses, Boats, and Pedal Taverns

There are various options. At the top of the article is a frame from the opening sequence on the Nashville Local’s Guide channel on YouTube. Understand that all of the following may vary in prices, with night tours costing more.

Bachelorette Party Buses

Nashville’s party buses bring the ultimate rolling party, with options for every vibe. Some have restrooms, others make pit stops if needed. Check their websites for rules, pricing, and special perks before booking! 🎶🔥

Pedal Taverns and Pontoons

These are options for more active people, as you are supposed to pedal to provide power to vehicle. On the taverns, there are seats on the back that do not pedal. And, in a situation where nobody pedals, the tavern can move on its own power. The main decisions is land or water.

  • Pedal Taverns: If you and your party are active, the best choice is a pedal tavern from Nashville Pedal Tavern. The tours meet at 1504 Demonbreun (Demonbreun and 15th in midtown) and end near Lower Broad. All are 90 minutes long. Cost is $49+ per person or you can book an entire pedal tavern (up to 12 people) for $520. It should not be a surprise there is no restroom on board. You can pre-purchase drinks from the company or BYOB, but there are a few rules.
    • Nothing over 8% alcohol allowed.
    • No liquor or seltzers made with distilled spirits (High Noon, etc.). Seltzers must be malt or fruit based.
    • NO glass or kegs. All beverages in cans only.
    • All passengers must be 21+.
  • Pedal Pontoon: Same basic experience on the river. These are $44 per person or $449 for the entire boat and can hold 16 people total (only 10 pedal). Also 90 minutes. These are BYOB only tours and under 21 can ride on a private tour (not public), but can’t drink. You can bring drinks with higher alcohol content on the river, but the no glass rule still applies. Restroom available, but open air with a privacy barrier, so more of a “must go” type of situation.

Other Options

For those who want to get out on the water, here are a few options.

  • Pontoon Saloon: Both public and private cruises. They can hold up to 47 guests on a single pontoon. Public cruises run $44-$49 and are 21+ only. Drinks for purchase onboard from $5-$10 and there is a DJ and a dance floor. Restrooms on board.
  • Cruisin’ Tikis offer a more intimate tour of the river, as they only carry a max of 18 people, and run $75+/individual (1.5 hours) or $425+ for a private cruise ($100 to extend to 3 hours). These are also BYOB and can accommodate all ages.
  • Nashville Toons meets at 1504 Demonbreun in the same building as the Pedal Taverns. This is a BYOB 3 hour cruise on a single deck ($499) or double decker ($599) boat. Both boats include restrooms, coolers, and a floating lake pad. The double decker also has a slide.
  • In addition to their pedal pontoon, River Queen Voyages also rents kayaks and pedal kayaks. If you are active and interested in getting a glimpse of Demonbreun’s cave, this could be a great option for you.
  • Pedal Kayaks hold 4 people per and run $360. These are not useful for partying, however.
  • Take a ride on the General Jackson.

Murals

Mural on the side of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery.

I have a map of the murals in Nashville, but have not updated it to the level of the Nashville Public Art map, which contains both murals and other artwork.

Boozy tours for murals:

Mimosas & Murals tour, which takes you around by bus on a 3-hour tour of some of the best neighborhoods for murals. One stop includes mimosas paired with donuts. There is also a Murals & Margaritas tour which covers the same route, different drink.

And a list of non-boozy tours:

Downtown

The easiest to find downtown are on Lower Broad on the side of Nudies and on Legends Corner across from Assembly Hall; the stairs up to Assembly Hall also bears a mural. There is also the As long as the grass shall grow mural on the corner of the garage across from Corner Pub on 5th Ave N. The Tennessee Tough mural sits across from Yee-Haw/Ole Smokey in SoBro and there are a couple of intricate murals near Church & 6th, including the tear-insipring One day I will rescue your brother too dog mural.

The Gulch

The Gulch is very close to downtown and is known for the famous What Lifts You mural, aka “the wings mural”. This is located on 11th Ave S on the other side of the building with the large staircase up to Demonbreun St. There are two other murals on the other side of 11th Ave S that are worth taking a picture of while you are here. Another iconic mural in this area is the Candy Hearts Mural on the side of Nashville Boot Company.

East Nashville

East Nashville is a mural lover’s paradise, with dozens of vibrant artworks packed into just a few blocks near 5 Points. One of the most striking pieces is the Nashville Strong mural on Woodland Street, which serves as a powerful tribute to the neighborhood’s resilience after tornadoes in 1998 and 2020, just before the pandemic.

As one of the city’s most creative districts, East Nashville features over 36 murals within a three-block radius, offering a stunning variety of artistic expression. A must-see is the I Believe in Nashville mural on The Basement East, a venue that lost its roof in the 2020 tornado. Thanks to the quick action of staff, everyone was safely evacuated before the storm hit, making the artwork a symbol of strength and perseverance.

12 South

12 South is a must-visit destination for street art lovers, boasting over a dozen murals within just six blocks. This trendy Nashville neighborhood is home to another of the iconic I Believe in Nashville murals, making it a prime spot for visitors looking to capture memorable photos.

One standout mural in the area is the eye-catching artwork on the side of Wanna Spoon cereal restaurant. With its unique and playful design, this piece adds to the vibrant artistic energy that defines 12 South

North Nashville

North Nashville is a vibrant hub of street art, where stunning murals bring life to Jefferson Street and Buchanan Street, each telling a unique story of the community’s rich culture and history. Many of these artworks honor the legacy of renowned African American artists, adding depth and meaning to the city’s creative landscape.

One of the most breathtaking pieces is the Walls for Women mural (pictured earlier) at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery on 16th Ave N. Spanning the entire side of the building, this expansive and colorful masterpiece makes for a must-see stop for art lovers and visitors alike.

Beyond this striking installation, North Nashville boasts even more standout murals, including one of the iconic I Believe in Nashville designs. Whether you’re exploring for the perfect photo op or simply soaking in the artistic expression, these murals offer a dynamic glimpse into the heart of the city’s identity

Keeping Safe

While I have covered this in more detail in the post Essential Tips for a Secure and Enjoyable Nashville Visit, I do want to mention a few things here.

  • Use the buddy system when you go out, especaily with larger parties. If you might split up, have everyone put the location of the room in their phone so it can be mapped.
  • Carry drink covers with you when you are drinking. These will reduce the chance of someone trying to drug you. You can get enough for the whole party in pink.
  • Consider going to one of the “safe bars” (any of the TC Entertainment bars, like Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, Luke’s 32 Bridge, Morgan Wallen’s This Bar, or Lainey WIlson’s Bell Bottoms Up. These bars carry free drink testers for Ketamine and GHB. Note that you can also get a 2 pack of tests that also include rohypnol (Also available with 12 tests for the entire party). Should you not be able to find a coaster, the ones similar are available in larger quantities for a nominal cost.
  • Consider carrying a
  • If you feel unsafe, most bars will understand ordering an “angel shot” is an indication you don’t feel safe and will be there to help. This is especially true at any safe bar.
